What is your travel background?
I have been a professional travel consultant since 1991. For me, travel is more than just going to a beach - it's about exploring the world that we live in, sharing enriching experiences, meeting amazing people, trying exotic foods, and living a great life.
What is your BEST advice for travelers?
Talk to the locals! Most people love the fact that you take an interest in their country & culture.
What is your favorite trip that you have taken? AND where are you planning to go next?
While I love the Tahitian Islands...the trip that deeply moved me was a safari through Kenya. Going to sleep with the sounds of hippos on the Mara River was sublime.
Island hopping in Greece was fantastic too. The people are so warm and friendly, and the food was amazing.
Soon it is back to New Zealand again and maybe a river cruise in Europe.
What is your best travel memory?
Visiting a Masai Mara village; learning how they live and experiencing their generosity was humbling.
