Through the Mariner Club, Golden Bear Travel operates over 300 escorted departures each year. Traditionally escorted programs have been planned aboard the fleets of Crystal Cruises, Cunard, Holland America Line, Orient Lines, P&O Cruises, Radisson Seven Seas Cruises, The Yachts of Seabourn and Silversea Cruises.

Cruises and cruisetours are available worldwide with Golden Bear Travel. Escorted Mariner Club cruises tend to be 10 days or longer on premium- and luxury-class ships.

Typical Clientele
The characteristics for the typical Mariner Club client will vary as cruises are planned with dozens of different cruise lines.  Each program will follow the applicable cruise line model. In general, Mariners are well traveled, upper-income older couples and singles. Mariners tend to be retired professionals with ample leisure time and disposable income.

Group rates or net rates are structured into nearly every Mariner Club offer.  Exclusive Mariner Club fares can present savings up to 50% per person.

Mariner Club Ranks
Golden Bear Travel has continued Matson Line’s tradition of awarding honorary ranks and corresponding jewelry to its members, recognizing mileage accumulated on Mariner cruises.  On the first cruise with the Mariner Club, clients are assigned the rank of "Associate Mariner" and begin to enjoy all the Club bonuses including parties, special events, shore excursions and savings on all future Mariner Club cruises.  Nearly every cruise taken with Golden Bear Travel can earn miles.  Awards and jewelry are presented at on-board parties to acknowledge members as they advance in rank.

Complimentary Mariner Shoreside Events (MSE)
The Mariner Club often whisks Mariners away for a special tour of the local sights and often treats for lunch or dinner at a top local restaurant. Arranged with first-rate tour companies that handle everything and accompanied by the Mariner Host every step of the way, these festive events are always a highlight of the cruise.  On selected cruises when MSE are not included in the package, a shipboard credit or special gift is often used.

Mariner Club Hosts
The hosts welcome Mariners aboard, make the introduction to fellow Mariners and plan the delightful cocktail parties and shoreside events that make the voyages special.

Complimentary Mariner Cocktail Parties
At these gala Mariner Club gatherings, Mariners meet the Captain, greet old friends, make new ones and have a ball!  Mariner Hosts begin the cocktail party with a brief personal introduction and a few words on the Mariner Club.  Certificates and jewelry honoring rank and mileage are then presented to all advancing Mariners and the remainder of the party is left for casual exchange so that passengers can mingle with each other and build new friendships.
